Introduction to our centre

Welcome to Ability Ahead.

This is a tutoring Centre situated in Armstrong Road, Maidstone, Kent, for the provision of high quality education provision in Maths and English for primary and early secondary students in the locality.

Since early in 2013 we have been providing individual lessons for students of English and Maths, particularly those who do not feel confident in their own ability. We have a proven record of success and the raising of confidence in young learners, and have received positive comments from parents regarding the progress of the children.

We use a variety of different learning strategies from book based exercises to interactive learning programmes presented by respected sources. Each student has an individual programme of study based on their particular need and the tuition takes place  in the quiet classroom delivered by qualified teachers. Sessions last  an hour and twenty minutes. Students, who generally attend one session  weekly,  take home a set of  homework based on their learning experiences at the Centre. The work is marked and the scores are recorded to measure individual progress.

In August each year we offer an opportunity to prepare for the 11+ test that students  take at the start of Year 6. Our 11+ Preparation Week includes a chance to sit the all the elements of the test, revision of the elements on which the test is based, opportunity to develop and improve logical thinking and reasoning skills. As you may have seen, every student who attended the course in 2016 was awarded a grammar School place .

We look forward to welcoming new students, please contact us if you are interested in the development of your child’s abilities.
