Reasoning

Reasoning: English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal

The ability to apply reasoning to problems has always been an important element in cognitive development and is a skill that can be learned given the opportunity. The importance of applying reasoned thinking to problems – logical thought has been a feature of tests. The 11-plus exam demands the students to use clear thinking when tackling problems and the importance of being able to think in a logical manner cannot be under estimated. Many of the questions in the Maths paper demand that evidence of working is shown in some of the question in past exams.

At Ability Ahead we have programmes and plans in all English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning papers to assist young people aged from Year 2 to Year 6 to think clearly and logically plan answers to the more obscure problems that crop up from time to time. We monitor their progress and guide them through the more challenging problems.
